The provincial deputy of Tourism, Virginia Martí, has defended the integration of the brand ‘Castelló Ruta de Sabor’ within the competences of the area of Tourism “because we believe that our gastronomy has to play a very important role in the tourist future of Castellón”. And is that, explained Martí, “we are talking about an element that differentiates us and gives us uniqueness to other tourist destinations, an opportunity that we have to take advantage of because every day tourism is more demanding and asks to experience and delve into the societies they visit.” These statements were made in the framework of the delivery of diplomas to the 50 students who participated in Castelló and Morella in the course ‘Gastronomic tourism and culinary culture of the Valencian Community’, whose ceremony was also attended by the regional secretary of Tourism, Francesc Colomer. The deputy has advanced that the Diputación de Castellón and the Generalitat Valenciana have already joined synergies to achieve this goal, which “is already bearing the first fruits”, as the accession of ‘Castelló Ruta de Sabor’ to the ‘GastroTourism’ Network of the Comunitat Valenciana or the next joint participation in the next edition of one of the main world showcases of gastronomy, Madrid Fusion”. The deputy of Tourism has continued explaining that “we must consolidate and prestige the project and the brand of ‘Castelló Ruta de Sabor’ as a tourist attraction because it will be a great economic revulsive for the province and, above all, for the interior, where, precisely, a good part of our best gastronomic products are produced”.
