The vice-president and head of Tourism, Andrés Martínez, praises the products and gastronomy of Castellón and assures that “this Gastronomic Festival will be a first class showcase, where visitors can learn about the best of our gastronomy, restaurants and products”.
The Provincial Council of Castellón will exhibit in Alcossebre the best cuisine of the province in the III edition of the Gastronomic Festival Castelló Ruta de Sabor.
The vice-president and responsible for the Tourism area of the provincial institution, Andrés Martínez, has been in charge of presenting the third edition of this festival that this year will be held at the Paseo Marítimo Tomás Vallés in Alcossebre on May 3, 4 and 5. Accompanied by the mayor of this town in the Baix Maestrat, Francisco Juan, the vice president of the Provincial Council has announced the Michelin Star restaurants that will participate in this gastronomic event, three of them from the province of Castellón, as well as the main novelties of this third edition of which he hopes will be “a success, both for Alcossebre, as for the province of Castellón”.
“Alcossebre will bring together the best gastronomy of our land in a unique and privileged environment next to the incredible beaches of the Mediterranean Sea,” said Andrés Martínez, who has expressed the “commitment of the Provincial Government team, chaired by Marta Barrachina, to continue to encourage and promote, hand in hand with the gastronomic sector of Castellón, the cuisine of our land.”
In this sense, the deputy of Tourism has praised “the culinary talent, the quality of the products and the innovation of our chefs, who every day surprise us with dishes that are delicacies”. “Castellón has positioned itself on the map of gastronomic tourism for the quality of its restaurants, chefs and zero kilometer products. We have in our province first class chefs, recognized by the most prestigious culinary guides in the world,” said Andrés Martínez.
Thus, the vice president of the institution has emphasized that the Gastronomic Festival Castelló Ruta de Sabor is “a unique opportunity to recognize and publicize the taste of this land, a showcase of first level, where visitors can taste the best of our cuisine, restaurants and local products,” he said.
“We take advantage of the fact that Alcossebre is a tourist town to publicize the best that our province has. It is very interesting that each of the people, tourists or people who visit the festival is the next day a speaker of the greatness and richness that have our products, both at the level of purchase at the stands, as well as at the level set, the kitchen, “said the vice president of the institution.
Undoubtedly, Alcossebre will be the scenario of union between industry professionals and consumers who can taste the best cuisine and also do it in “an ideal place”. This has been highlighted by the mayor of Alcossebre, Francisco Juan, who said that “the Paseo Marítimo Tomás Vallés meets all the conditions of breadth, accessibility, and also will be an unbeatable setting, since it is by the sea”.
“It is an honor to host this event in a municipality in which gastronomy is a line of tourism promotion,” stressed the mayor, for which he thanked the Provincial Council of Castellón and its president Marta Barrachina, the bet they have made “to bring the Gastronomic Festival to Alcossebre”, and highlighted the work of the Tourist Board.
A recognition that has joined Andrés Martínez, who has recognized the daily work of the Tourism Department of the Diputación de Castellón for “being able to arrive on time to a magnificent event that will bring together the best gastronomy in our land”.
The Provincial Tourist Board has prepared, together with the restaurants and chefs, a program of activities for the public to enjoy with a variety of showcooking, tastings, lectures, product presentations, musical performances, etc. “We are going to surprise, with a unique experience, all those who attend with the help of chefs and cooking professionals from our land and other neighboring provinces,” said Andrés Martínez.
The Gastronomic Festival, as announced by the deputy of Tourism, will feature the participation of chefs from restaurants that hold either Michelin Star, Sol Repsol, or both, and the list is composed of Alejandra and Emanuel (Atalaya restaurant), Raul Resino (Restaurant Raul Resino), Miguel Barrera (Restaurant Cal Paradís), Xabier Goikoetxea (Oria by Martin Berasategui), Alberto Ferruz (BonAmb Restaurant), Fran López (Villa Retiro Restaurant), Begoña Rodrigo (La Salita Restaurant), Koldo Royo, Nazario Cano, Roseta Félix (Fraula Restaurant), Juanfran Valiente (Quique Dacosta Restaurant) and Rubén Miralles (Rubén Miralles Restaurant).
They will be joined by Chef Bosquet, an international gastronomic reference, as well as twenty-four producers, all associated with the Castelló Ruta de Sabor brand. Seven other restaurants from Alcalà de Xivert -Alcossebre, and one more from l’Alcora, will also be present, adding to the wide gastronomic offer of this great culinary event.
