The Provincial Council of Castellón, through the Provincial Tourism Board, begins a new phase of the project ‘Castelló Ruta de Sabor’, more ambitious if possible, to give a new impetus to the provincial gastronomic tourism offer, especially after the difficult times experienced during the pandemic. In the words of Virginia Martí, deputy of Tourism, “we are convinced that the project ‘Castelló Ruta de Sabor’ is the best way to support our producers and the tourism sector that bets on local gastronomy and the excellent products of our land”. And the philosophy with which the gastronomic brand of the Provincial Council was born several years ago is now more important than ever: “We want to strengthen the economy of our towns, promote the circular economy and local consumption and, above all, be proud of who we are, of our way of life, and therefore, of our gastronomy”.
As a result of the Board’s firm commitment to gastronomic tourism, a public tender has been issued to set up a specialized Technical Secretariat for the ‘Castelló Ruta de Sabor’ project which, together with the professionals of the Provincial Tourist Board, will work specifically over the next few years to provide technical support to all the companies, ensure that quality standards are met and develop the necessary promotional activities to help improve the positioning of the brand in the market. The company awarded the contract has been DINAMIZA Asesores, a specialized company with extensive experience in gastronomic tourism, well acquainted with the provincial reality, as it had already worked with Diputación de Castellón in previous phases of the project.
Among other actions, it is planned to carry out actions to raise awareness of the sector in the various counties and tourist areas of the province, master plans to promote gastronomic tourism in these areas, business meetings ‘Castelló Ruta de Sabor’ to create new synergies between companies in the province (visitable producers, companies activities, accommodation, restaurants, gastrobars, stores, etc..), specialized training workshops aimed at different agents, learning or benchmarking trips to other gastronomic destinations, the organization of blogtrips and presstrips with the aim of publicizing our province to bloggers and journalists, the creation of gastronomic routes and gastronomic days in the different regions and the development of new promotional supports Castelló Ruta de Sabor (brochures, gastromap, gastronomic guide …).
