The Provincial Council undertakes an intense plan of action with Castelló Ruta de Sabor

Monday, 09 October 2017 - Castelló Ruta de Sabor

These days and until the end of the year, the Castellón Provincial Council is undertaking an intense plan of action with the brand of local products Castelló Ruta de Sabor with the help of producers and municipalities.

The Diputación de Castellón undertakes these days and until the end of the year an intense action plan with the brand of local products Castelló Ruta de Sabor with the help of producers and municipalities. Thus, the Provincial Government will promote a total of 21 actions that will involve more than thirty municipalities to promote the consumption of products from Castellón after the recent incorporation this week of 40 new producers. The deputy responsible for Castelló Ruta de Sabor, Pablo Roig, explained that “this action plan is the embodiment of the requests that we have been raising the various sectoral committees of the brand to meet the priorities they give us. There will be gastronomic days, fairs, training sessions, courses, tastings and tastings that will allow us to continue working again to position the quality of the products of our people”. Among the actions to be carried out during the month of October, the I Jornadas Gastronómicas Alt Maestrat in Culla, Catí, Benassal and Ares del Maestrat; the fira de la tomata de penjar in Alcalà de Xivert on 14 and 15 will be held until the 29th; also the VI Gastronomic Days of meat, oil and wine (Atzeneta del Maestrat, Benafigos, Benlloch, Cabanes, La Pobla Tornesa, Les Useres, Els Rosildos (Serra d’en Galceran), la Vall d’Alba, Vistabella del Maestrat and Xodos); the Hazelnut Month in Benassal. The VI Days of mushrooms, meats and autumn products (Els Ports); the Mostra de la Cervesa Artesanal Castelló Ruta de Sabor; technical training day on truffle plantations and the Alto Palancia and Castellón con Estrella agri-food fair.

One of Spain’s most important gastronomic brands

The consolidation of the brand of local products Castelló Ruta de Sabor as a dynamic element of the agri-food sector of the province is already a reality with the inclusion last week of 40 new producers. There are already 80 producers and more than 100 products from 14 different agri-food sectors. “Three years ago when our president, Javier Moliner, thought of the opportunity to create a differentiating element that would act as an umbrella brand for our best gastronomy, we did not imagine such an important follow-up. Today we are already among the Spanish gastronomic brands with more products and more sectors, and created under serious parameters of quality and origin marked by professionals of the sectors themselves,” said the deputy. The ambition of the Diputación de Castellón with the enhancement of the gastronomy of the province is such that the Government of the province is already working on the creation of Castelló Ruta de Sabor as a new tourism product of Castellón. Thus, through the gastronomic resource of the products and the whole process of elaboration in the municipalities of Castellón, the Provincial Council will work hand in hand with municipalities and producers in order to value these products, all the natural and cultural heritage linked to them and attract visitors to the villages not only through the realization of gastronomic and commercial events, but also incorporate a series of tourist experiences with more complementary offerings that allow visitors to know the people of Castellón through its gastronomic tradition.
