The taste of the province of Castellón will be installed in the capital of the Baix Maestrat with the celebration of the II Gastronomic Festival Castelló Ruta de Sabor organized by the Provincial Council of Castellón. An event that will bring together the best products and flavors of Castellón during the 20, 21 and 22 October in the Paseo Colón in the town of Vinaròs and also will be “full of culinary talent with eleven Michelin Star restaurants, three of them from our province”.
This was stated by the second vice president of the Provincial Council and provincial deputy of Tourism, Andrés Martínez, during the presentation of the second edition of this gastronomic festival that took place this morning at the provincial palace and was attended by the mayor of Vinaròs, Guillem Alsina, Vinaròs City Councilor for Tourism Marc Albella, as well as Michelin stars Miguel Barrera, from Cal Paradís Restaurant in Vall d’Alba, and Alejandra Herrador and Emmanuel Carlucci, from Atalaya Restaurant in Alcossebre.
As highlighted by the second vice president, this festival is “a sample of the high level that has reached the gastronomy in our province, in which we have restaurants and chefs of the highest level, recognized by the most prestigious culinary guides in the world”. Therefore, Martínez considers, “this event will become the best showcase for the products and gastronomic innovations that arise and are made from Castellón, as well as the companies that are grouped under the brand Castelló Ruta de Sabor”, whom he thanked for their “maximum involvement” to continue “strengthening our tourism proposal linked to the culture created in the kitchens”.
In this sense, Andrés Martínez has shown the commitment of the Provincial Council of Castellón and its first president, Marta Barrachina, to continue celebrating and supporting events of this type that “not only put in value the gastronomy we have in Castellón, but also attract tourism to the province and serve to make us known as a tourist destination of proximity”. Because, as highlighted by the provincial deputy of Tourism, “the culinary offer we have in the province is part of our tourism promotion. Those who come to Castellón find products of proximity, high quality, with designation of origin, along with the best chefs,” said the second vice president.
That is why the Gastronomic Festival Castelló Ruta de Sabor is a “unique opportunity” and “a great showcase to publicize the unique flavor of this province,” insisted the second vice president, who added that “Vinaròs will be the scene of union between industry professionals and consumers”.
A decision that the mayor of Vinaròs has applauded. “It is an honor to host this event and a commitment of this council to support this type of initiatives that make us great,” said Alsina.
For his part, Miguel Barrera said that “it is a pride to be an ambassador of this brand Ruta de Sabor”. An opinion shared by Alejandra Herrador, who stated that “Castellón is a gastronomic province, a very rich land thanks to its products”.
It should be noted that the festival will feature an exhibition area where you can buy food products, dishes and tapas by restaurants associated with ‘Vinaròs Gastronòmic’, which will have three spaces in which restaurants in the capital of the Baix Maestrat will be alternating. In the same way, will be present the great restaurant Riscla de l’Alcora and the restaurant Julen de Oropesa del Mar.
Also, this culinary event will have information points of the various gastronomic, rest areas, beverage bars and a stage, with giant screen, kitchen for ‘showcookings’ and presentations of products and companies, plus there will be children’s area, etc.. “During the three days of the festival there will be different activities for both children and adults, with workshops, performances and musical shows, among others,” said the second vice president of the Provincial Council of Castellón.
For all these reasons, Andrés Martínez has invited the people of Castellón to participate in this event and taste the best recipes and products of Castellón, but also to know culinary recipes from other provinces of Spain. And is that this festival will feature the participation of eleven Michelin Star restaurants, not only Castellón, but across the nation, which will be responsible for preparing the ‘showcookings’ and show off their dishes and techniques in the kitchen to those present. “During these three days we will have eleven culinary exhibitions by renowned Michelin Star restaurants that will come from different parts of Spain to know the products of Castellón,” explained Martinez.
“The festival will be a journey through the senses by the hand of our chefs, a unique event that will allow the public to discover and feel a gastronomic journey by the sea,” concluded the provincial deputy of Tourism.
