In the premiere of this initiative, a dozen gastronomic artisans are exhibiting, a reasonable number considering the space limitations applied to ensure the safety of both the public and the participants. The president of the Diputación de Castellón, José Martí, and the deputies of Tourism and Rural Development, Virginia Martí and Santi Pérez, visited the exhibition this morning and personally greeted each of the participants, from all corners of the province. Each stand offers a different specialty, from sweets and liqueurs to cheeses and vegetables, in order to expand the possibilities of purchase to all companies that have agreed to be part of this first ‘Fira de Nadal’ of the Provincial Council. Martí stressed that most of the producers who today and throughout the weekend present their best delicacies in the capital of the Plana come mostly from the provincial interior, so it has encouraged citizens to come and buy for this Christmas products of the land and ‘Castelló Ruta de Sabor’, “because this way we will be contributing to move the wealth for our regions and create new jobs”. The deputy of Tourism, area that assumes ‘Castelló Ruta de Sabor’, has highlighted the commitment to aesthetically renew the fair with respect to its predecessor, the ‘Fira de la Trufa’, “as a way to make the shopping environment much more attractive” and is confident that the sales figures are “very positive” for all producers. As a complement to the food exhibition, the attending public will also be able to enjoy a series of activities, such as ‘showcookings’ and product presentations. The opening hours tomorrow Saturday will be from 10 am to 10 pm, while Sunday’s closing hours will be advanced to 8 pm.
