The Provincial Council of Castellón has presented this week the new stage of the brand ‘Castelló Ruta de Sabor’ in six municipalities of the province in order to bring citizens and companies in the gastronomic sector the benefits of being part of the gastrotourism club of Castellón and encourage the incorporation of new firms. “From the Provincial Council and the Provincial Tourism Board of Castellón we are aware of the diversity and gastronomic wealth that exists in the territory, so we have been working for months on the review and transformation of the existing brand “to revive the supply of provincial gastronomic tourism,” said the deputy of Tourism, Virginia Martí. In the six presentation sessions, held in Vall d’Uixó, Vilafranca, Traiguera, les Coves de Vinromà, Llucena and Soneja, the provincial head of Tourism has been determined to “consolidate ‘Castelló Ruta de Sabor’. To this end, she has proposed a new stage in which multiple awareness and communication actions have been developed with public and private agents, training activities and technical advisory visits, diagnoses of the gastronomic situation of the province and has conceptualized a marketing strategy that will include blogtrips and press trips, among others. “The idea is to position Castellón as a gastronomic tourism destination and create new opportunities for our province.” These conferences have been characterized by participation, as the concerns and contributions of all participants have been integrated with the purpose of boosting the competitiveness of gastronomic tourism in the province of Castellón.
GRANTS TO PARTICIPATING COMPANIES
During the course of these conferences, Virginia Martí has stressed that from the Board “we have maintained a specific line of aid of 200,000 euros for companies attached to the project and will allocate up to 175,000 euros to promote the new Product Club ‘Castelló Ruta de Sabor'”. “We are with the agri-food sector of Castellón,” he concluded.
