The Castellón Provincial Council will boost tourism activity in the municipalities of Alt and Baix Maestrat with the IV Gastronomic Days of Oil and Nuts during the weekends from next Saturday, November 11, until December 16. With this, the Provincial Government joins, through its project Castelló Ruta de Sabor, the gastronomic offer of eight municipalities and 13 restaurants and makes it an important tourist resource and energizing the activity of the municipalities of the interior.
The provincial deputy of Castelló Ruta de Sabor, Pablo Roig, has emphasized the dual purpose of these initiatives. “On the one hand, we contribute through the guide brand Castelló Ruta de Sabor to the enhancement of local products such as oil and nuts. On the other hand, and from its enhancement, we are helping the towns to maintain more activity in their restaurants and stores, which generates economic dynamization in their day to day”.
The conference includes the participation of restaurants from the municipalities of Càlig, Cervera del Maestre, Culla, Les Coves de Vinromà, Rossell, Sant Jordi, Sant Mateu and Xert.
“In addition to tasting the good gastronomy offered by these days, they provide the opportunity to learn about the rich historical and natural heritage of these municipalities, stroll through their streets, shop for typical local products and soak up the welcoming atmosphere of the same.”
10,000 additional tourists to the towns for the gastronomic days
The Castellón Provincial Council expects to attract more than 10,000 additional tourists to the towns of the province with an economic impact of more than 500,000 euros through the gastronomic events scheduled until the end of the year.
And is that the good performance that is having the bet of the Provincial Government to value the local products as a tourist engine with ‘Castelló Ruta de Sabor’ makes foresee that the three gastronomic days that promotes this last quarter of the year continue with the good results they are having so far.
It should be noted that the Provincial Government is involving 27 municipalities and 47 restaurants and wineries in the three gastronomic days organized during the last quarter of the year: the VI Gastronomic Days of Meat, Oil and Wine, the IV Gastronomic Days of Oil and Nuts, and the VI Gastronomic Days of Mushrooms, Meat and Autumn Products.
