The provincial deputy of Rural Development and Action Against Depopulation, Santi Pérez, will participate next Wednesday in the presentation of the seminar on traceability in the primary sector organized by the Science and Technology Park of the Universitat Jaume I of Castelló (Espaitec). In his speech he will refer to the steps being taken by the brand Castelló Ruta de Sabor to improve the quality of their products and make them more competitive and introduce value-added parameters. Pérez will share the presentation with the General Director of Rural Development of the Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, Climate Emergency and Ecological Transition, David Torres.
This is an important appointment because the current regulations on food traceability do not address in detail how to proceed to ensure the safety of the food value chain. However, in the primary sector, technologies such as blockchain and internet of things (IOT) are already a reality because of their ability to provide real-time solutions to ensure safety throughout the production, distribution and sales process. This free webinar aims to show real cases of application of these technologies to improve traceability in the value chain of the primary sector.
The conference will be attended by experts who will help to discover the blockchain applied to the primary sector and how this technology can favor the transparency of processes, the security of transactions and their unalterability. It will also be explained that traceability helps to improve the ability to respond to emergency situations.
The conference is aimed at people interested in innovation applied to the primary sector, with special attention to agriculture and livestock. It is also of interest to those in charge of public administrations and professionals and associations linked to the primary sector, as well as innovative companies working in the development of technologies applied to the sector.
Due to the capacity of the platform, in order to participate it is necessary to register before Tuesday, June 16, 2020.
