Provincial Council promotes gastronomic tourism in Alcalà de Xivert with the II Fira Gastronòmica

The Provincial Council of Castellón and the City Council of Alcalà de Xivert-Alcossebre promote gastronomic tourism in the municipality with the call next May 3, 4 and 5 of the II Fira Gastronòmica Castelló Ruta de Sabor.

The Castellón Provincial Council and the City Council of Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre promote gastronomic tourism in the municipality with the call next May 3, 4 and 5 of the II Fira Gastronòmica Castelló Ruta de Sabor. This is an initiative that consolidates the work of the consistory to generate gastronomic tourism product in the municipality and is perfectly aligned in the open line of action of the Castellón Provincial Council with the tourism product of Castelló Ruta de Sabor.

The deputy of Rural Development, Pablo Roig, has put the City Council of Alcalà de Xivert as “an example of what we are promoting from the Provincial Council with the tourism product Castelló Ruta de Sabor. They have been working for some time, hand in hand with local producers, in the creation of tourism product linked to its gastronomy. And this fair walks in the same line of initiatives that already have consolidated as is the case of the Fira de la Tomata de Penjar or the inclusion of five products of their people in Castelló Ruta de Sabor. From the Provincial Council we recognize that effort and we help them for the second consecutive year with this initiative that aims to consolidate this line of development of gastronomic tourism product to continue generating tourism activity outside the summer season”.

In this sense has also referred to the mayor of Alcala de Xivert and provincial deputy, Francisco Juan Mars who thanked the council “promote this event with the presence of the brand Castelló Ruta de Sabor, as this second edition represents the consolidation of a fair that attracts wealth and dynamism through the quality of our products”.

And is that the Fira Gastronòmica Castelló Ruta de Sabor will allow for two days Rech Street in the town will become an excellent showcase for tasting and purchasing the best products of the land. The event will bring together more than twenty booths, where you can find cheeses, oils, pasta and traditional bakery, craft beers … In addition, it will also feature live music, showcookings and wine tastings.

A rich program of parallel activities

In the same way, as a complement to the fair, Alcossebre will also host the II Gastronomic Days ‘Castelló Ruta de Sabor’ from April 27 to May 5. A total of 12 local establishments have prepared for the occasion complete menus and tapas made entirely with products attached to the provincial government project.

Secreto a la plancha con salsa de turrón Agut de Benlloch’, ‘Empanadilla de alcachofa de Benicarló, tomata de penjar d’Alcalà de Xivert y queso de Catí’ or ‘Croquellanas de cocido’, are just a small sample of the exquisite elaborations that can be found in these days and that will be paired with the wines of the IGP Castellón and the best beers produced in the province.
