The Provincial Council today concludes a successful I Gastronomic Tourism Fair through which it has managed to attract thousands of visitors to know and consume local products from Castellón. The success has been such that many producers have sold out their stocks in this great platform created by the Provincial Government chaired by Javier Moliner to make known to the general public Castellón and even regional agri-food products of the province. The support of Martin Berasategui as a great ambassador of Castelló Ruta de Sabor has been instrumental in helping the Provincial Council of Castellón has managed to create with this fair, along with producers and tourism companies, a great platform to publicize among the people of Castellón and throughout the national market the potential, quality and diversity of local products, as well as the wide variety of tourist experiences that are already around them in the municipalities of Castellón. The provincial deputy of Rural Development, Pablo Roig, said that “with the creation of this fair we have taken an important step in our goal of making the people of Castellón the best ambassadors of the products of our land, because we are all proud to have a gastronomy so precious and varied, as well as a multitude of gastronomic tourism experiences that can already be enjoyed in our towns. Often the lack of knowledge of what is closest to us is what prevents us from valuing and enjoying it, and from the Provincial Council we all want to be good connoisseurs of the great gastronomic and heritage riches of our province, because you can not love what you do not know”.
Martín Berasategui, an ambassador of luxury
The fact that one of the best chefs in the world has become involved in the brand promoted by the Provincial Council has undoubtedly helped to strengthen this first fair. Martín Berasategui, as ambassador of Castelló Ruta de Sabor, has also helped this first edition of the event to be perceived with more expectation by the public. At the inauguration there was an unusual expectation around the most recognized Spanish chef with Michelin stars, as he accumulates eight, making him the fourth chef in the world ranking. For almost four hours between his visit to the Central Market of Castellón and the opening of the fair were hundreds of people who wanted to meet him, especially producers belonging to Castelló Ruta de Sabor who have participated in this great event of the provincial gastronomy. With this successful first edition of the Gastronomic Tourism Fair Castelló Ruta de Sabor, the Provincial Government of Javier Moliner has intensified its commitment to make visible and take advantage of the enormous opportunities that opens the creation of a network of gastronomic tourism product of the hand of producers, tourism sector and municipalities as a means of development and employment for the people. “This fair has served to generate new ambassadors of Castelló Ruta de Sabor, as it will serve to verify and make known to the tourism sector itself and thousands of Castellonenses that in the province we have the best pantry of the Mediterranean and tourist experiences that are very worthwhile and that lead us to value our cultural and natural heritage.” Thus, the Provincial Council has already incorporated 115 companies in the province as ambassadors of the product brand Castelló Ruta de Sabor in this gastrotourism bet to improve the opportunities of the people. The profiles of this tourism product network are made up of agencies, accommodation, gastrobars, restaurants, stores, markets, interpretation centers, tourist offices, visitable agri-food industries, visitable fish markets, tourist fishing and agricultural and livestock producers. “Now it is time to complete the project and move on to work on the route, the experience, to finish cohesion and give meaning to the brand,” said the deputy.
High participation in all activities
If the first day yesterday attracted the participation of hundreds of visitors, today has not been less. A nutritional talk has been responsible for opening today’s program, followed by a sample of healthy cooking by chef Sergio Salvador. The preparation and tasting of seafood stew by Pescaturismo El Paraíso del Grao de Castellón has attracted the attention of many people. In the afternoon, the tasting of AOVE Premium Castelló Ruta de Sabor product by Miguel Abad, technician of Olivicultura and Elaiotécnia and the showcooking by Pablo Tomás, chef of the Restaurant Cal Mistero de Les Useres have also attracted the attention of many visitors. Finally the sample of tapas Castelló Ruta de Sabor by the chef Carlos Miralles, owner of the Restaurant Vericat of Peñíscola has put the finishing touch to this first fair.
