A total of thirteen companies and entities from Castelló adhered to the Castelló Ruta de Sabor brand know the development of the Rioja Alavesa as an outstanding national destination in gastronomic tourism.
Members of the Castelló Ruta de Sabor club of the Castellón Provincial Council have traveled to the Rioja Alavesa to learn about the strategies and objectives of gastronomic promotion associated with tourism.
The vice-president and head of the Tourism area, Andrés Martínez, highlighted the value of this learning trip, “an event in which professionals from the sector, companies and organizations have discussed innovative strategies to promote collaboration between the tourism and gastronomy sectors”, he said.
Thus, a total of thirteen companies and entities from Castelló adhering to the Castelló Ruta de Sabor brand have learned about the development of the Rioja Alavesa as a national destination for gastronomic tourism. During their stay in this region of Álava, in the Basque Country, they have visited restaurants and wineries, and have held meetings with professionals of the sector, who have explained to the Castellón businessmen how gastronomy has been consolidated in this Basque land as a very powerful tourist attraction.
A very productive training trip in which each of the participating companies and entities have been able to gain experience and discover the way of working of a strategic community in gastronomic tourism, to apply it to their work model and promote gastronomy as an important tourist and economic revulsive in the province of Castellón.
