The Castellón Provincial Council promotes gastronomic tourism and consumption of local products with the creation of new gastronomic events through its project Castelló Ruta de Sabor. Thus, from today until next Monday February 25 will take place in the marina of Oropesa del Mar the First Gastronomic Days of Seafood Rice. This initiative, organized by the Provincial Council, was born with the vocation to put in value the seafood products of the province of Castellón in a place as attractive as the marina facilities of the municipality.
The provincial vice president of Tourism, Andrés Martínez, explained that “the gastronomic days are emerging as a successful tourism formula in our municipalities, which see the opportunity to show visitors and the people of the villages themselves the gastronomic richness of the territory. Linking the days to local products allows us to know them more closely, and thus also their cultivation, their properties, and above all, improve our knowledge of the attractions of the province of Castellón”.
Martinez stressed that “the gastronomic days help to deseasonalize tourism through Castelló Ruta de Sabor, and this is also the objective of these first Gastronomic Days of Seafood Rice with which we contribute to the enhancement of the excellent products of our province and energize our towns and our tourist areas as in this case”.
It should be noted that the days offer specialized menus on seafood rice in the three restaurants of the marina of Oropesa del Mar during these days.
The duality sea and mountain, attractive also in gastronomy
The duality and coexistence of the maritime and mountainous environment in the same territory is the differential element of the province of Castellón that is concentrating the communication of the Provincial Council when promoting the provincial destination in tourism and gastronomic fairs aimed at the national public.
In the case of the days of Oropesa del Mar, the Provincial Council aims to highlight the quality of fish and rice dishes of the province more typical of the coastal municipalities.
