The Diputación de Castellón has opened international markets as far away as Japan, Korea, Russia or Mexico to the producers of the province of Castellón in Gastrónoma. The Provincial Government concludes today a successful participation in the fair by the hand of 25 exhibitors from the province that have participated with the brand promoted by the Provincial Council, Castelló Ruta de Sabor. It should be noted that producers have also been able to establish dozens of business contacts with restaurants, distributors and delicatessens from much of the Valencian Community and Catalonia, as well as distributors from other areas of Spain.
The deputy of Rural Development, Pablo Roig, said today at the fair that “Castelló Ruta de Sabor is fulfilling its mission to open new commercial doors to the sale of our local products in markets as unattainable a few years ago as these. With the combined efforts of producers from different sectors of our gastronomy, we are now much stronger when it comes to presenting ourselves as a quality brand, which brings together the best of the gastronomy of Castellón, and that every day will be sold and consumed in more places in Spain and the world. We are proud that this interest is awakening among the hotel, catering and commercial distribution sector because it means more opportunities for our towns, the origin producer of these excellent products”.
Great interest in gastronomic tourism experiences
It should be noted that in addition to the interest aroused among foreign companies in the Castelló Ruta de Sabor brand and especially in specific products such as the black truffle or the Vistabella potato, it is also noteworthy that several international companies have shown interest in marketing the tourist experiences already offered by many production companies in the province, such as, for example, some wineries in the province.
“This introduction of the tourism product is very positive,” said the deputy Roig, “especially considering that this is the first year that we participate in Gastrónoma with the tourism product Castelló Ruta de Sabor, and the reception has been very good. We see how the gastronomic tourism experience is on the rise and the sector is increasingly interested in this product profile”.
It should be recalled that the Provincial Council of Castellón has promoted the participation of the provincial gastronomy through a stand of Castelló Ruta de Sabor with 168 square meters of exhibition in which products as varied as oils, wines, coffees, eggs, liquors, mineral water, artisan sauces, beers, jams, artichokes, penjar tomatoes and processed and truffled products have been shown.
Castelló Ruta de Sabor, a consolidated brand in the sector
Castelló Ruta de Sabor is already one of the most powerful gastronomic brands in Spain, which includes among its products two designations of origin, one Protected Geographical Indication and six with a Natural Park label.
After four years of experience, the brand of the Provincial Council Castelló Ruta de Sabor has managed to bring together more than 100 producers from 15 different food sectors, two designations of origin, a Protected Geographical Indication and 6 products with distinctive Natural Park. It is a brand present in stores, fairs, supermarkets and supermarkets in the province and part of the Spanish territory.
With this type of actions such as the 1st Castelló Ruta de Sabor Gastronomic Tourism Fair and now with its participation in Gastrónoma, the Provincial Council is already facing the Christmas campaign in which it will multiply the promotion of the consumption of Castelló Ruta de Sabor products, disseminating information about their quality and origin in order to help generate new economic opportunities throughout the territory.
