The reception hall of the Provincial Palace of the Provincial Council of Castellón has hosted the gala presentation of certificates to new companies adhering to the gastronomic brand Castelló Ruta de Sabor. An act that, as stated by the second vice president and deputy of Tourism, Andrés Martínez, reflects the firm commitment of the provincial institution “to value the provincial gastronomy”. Thus, the second vice president stressed that “Castelló Ruta de Sabor is a distinctive that identifies and differentiates companies and entities that, with their work, passion and experience, make the gastronomy of the province of Castellón a unique experience”. On this occasion there have been 28 entities that have become part of this benchmark brand of Mediterranean culinary culture. In his speech, the deputy of Tourism has praised the food products of the province of Castellón, from which “comes a varied cuisine that offers us a tourist possibility that joins our natural, historical and cultural heritage,” said Andrés Martínez, who has continued saying that “today, tourists are looking for excellent cuisine and, in Castellón, find it, because we have products, restaurants and chefs of the highest level, recognized by the most prestigious culinary guides in the world”. In this sense, the second vice president of the Diputación de Castellón has assured that “from the provincial institution we want to encourage the consumption of all products of the province, which run through our regions, from the sea to the mountains, through the orchard of Castellón, and publicize the variety we have and the different culinary possibilities they offer because this way we are not only promoting our land, but we are also encouraging the revitalization of the economy”. Thus, the deputy of Tourism has moved his message of welcome to all the companies and entities present and congratulated them for contributing with their work and dedication to “turn Castellón into a reference province in gastronomy”. “Castelló Ruta de Sabor has established itself as our great platform to add new opportunities to this land and it is thanks to your efforts,” said Andrés Martínez, so he has encouraged them to continue growing and moving forward together. Also during the event, 44 companies in the gastronomic tourism sector have renewed their certificate and all of them have been given a diploma. The entities adhered in December 2023 are of different typologies. Producers, hoteliers, gastronomic stores and restaurants that make up the gastronomic tourism product and agrotourism Castelló Ruta de Sabor. The new companies of the gastronomic tourism sector certified are Café Kokoa (Benicarló), 964 Tasting Shop (Alcossebre), Mas de la Mezquita (Culla), Castelló Sud, Oficina de Turismo Burriana (Burriana), Ancora Gastrobar (Moncofa), Restaurante Can Bolo (Benicarló), Restaurant Casa Julen (Oropesa del Mar), Restaurant Casanova (Torreblanca), Restaurant El Ceramista (Vila-real), Restaurant el Hogar del Pescador (Benicarló), Restaurant El Trinquet (Pavías), Restaurant Ka Nostra (Sant Mateu), Restaurant Rebost de Roures (Benicàssim).
While the new agri-food entities certified in December 2023 are Vizuecos Blanc de Noirs and Vizuecos Selection (Les Coves de Vinaromà), Intercity Development Avocados (l’Alcora), Del terreno, Primavera, Serrana, etc (Soneja), Esencia de Espadán (Almedijar), Licora Sabores Naturales (l’Alcora), Mar Negre – Xocolates Artesans (Alcossebre), Finca La Casa de las Monedas (Torreblanca), No Name Gin – London Gin Premium (Segorbe), Panadería Argelita (Argelita), Aceite Virgen Extra Cooperativa Bejis (Bejís), Carmelitano (Benicàssim), Turrones Barberá (Atzeneta del Maestrat), Turrones Agut de Benlloch (Benlloch) and Jamones Alfredo Monfort (Todolella).
A consolidated brand
With the new additions, the Castelló Ruta de Sabor brand brings together 472 companies in the province, so the second vice president wanted to express his gratitude to those who are already part of the club for their support and commitment. “Today, gastronomy is one of the sectors that attracts more tourism to our land. Those who come to Castellón not only have the opportunity to taste the best dishes, but also to taste the best products. Products of great quality that put in value our province. Congratulations to all and continue to move forward and grow together,” concluded the second vice president of the Diputación de Castellón.
