Tuesday, 29 January 2019 - Castelló Ruta de Sabor

The chef from San Sebastian Martín Berasategui will support the producers of Castelló Ruta de Sabor in Madrid Fusion, considered the most prestigious gastronomic fair in the world.

The Donostian chef Martín Berasategui will support the producers of Castelló Ruta de Sabor in Madrid Fusion, considered the most prestigious gastronomic fair in the world. And is that the Provincial Council has begun today its participation in the XVII International Summit of Gastronomy Reale Seguros Madrid Fusion 2019 until next Wednesday with its own stand of Castelló Ruta de Sabor through which opens the doors to producers, chefs and establishments of the province in this great international forum, promoting new economic opportunities for the municipalities of Castellón. Among others, the chef from San Sebastian, ambassador of the brand promoted by the Provincial Council, has already confirmed his participation during the day tomorrow.

The provincial deputy of Rural Development, Pablo Roig, has led today this provincial participation in the fair, where he has been able to hold several meetings of interest with producers and chefs.

“For the Provincial Government to be here today is important, because with this stand we open the doors so that our products are better known and valued, and our producers sell more and better. We are carrying out a complete strategy of promotion and consolidation of the Castelló Ruta de Sabor brand, and as part of that strategy we participate in these specialized events. Doing so with a chef of the stature of Martín Berasategui is an honor for the provincial gastronomy, as it opens many doors for our product to be consumed in many places”.

In that sense, Roig explained that “what we will do here is to publicize the virtues of the products of Castellón among priority audiences, such as the best chefs in Spain, who are the great prescribers. At the fair they can taste the products, receive all the information about them and learn directly about their place of origin and the production process that follows their elaboration. This is in addition to establishing commercial relations, because although it is true that our products are already well known, in few fairs one has the opportunity to talk face to face with the main product prescribers”. Madrid Fusión is the most important international professional gastronomic event held in Spain and every year it brings together nearly 2,000 congress participants, as well as the best chefs both nationally and from all over the world, who present the trends and work being carried out within the high-level gastronomic panorama, as well as quality products. During these three days, prestigious chefs of the stature of Ferrán Adrià, Ricard Camarena or Quique Dacosta, will participate in lectures and other activities around the stove.

A provincial stand full of gastrotourism opportunities

Castelló Ruta de Sabor is present in Madrid Fusion with a stand in the area ‘Taste Spain’ and has different promotional material and a screen with audiovisuals. In addition to covering dozens of producers from Castellón, during these days will publicize the extensive pantry with which the province has and position it as a gastrotourism destination. Very present among this material is the gastromapa published by the provincial government where establishments, companies and public entities that are already part of the tourism product Castelló Ruta de Sabor.
This space that the Provincial Council provides to producers Castellón also has facilities and equipment to conduct business meetings available to dozens of producers who will travel during this week to Madrid.

The duality of sea and mountain, attractive also in gastronomy
The duality and coexistence of the maritime environment with the mountainous in the same territory is the differential element of the province of Castellón that is concentrating the communication of the Provincial Council when promoting the destination in tourism and gastronomic fairs aimed at the national public.

Thus, high mountain products such as truffles, meats, wines, oils and mineral waters combine perfectly with the best seafood, oranges and other vegetables such as artichokes and tomatoes.

“A gastronomic diversity with a level of quality very difficult to overcome and we have to make the most of for our territory. Not in vain, some of the chefs we have talked to have told us that Castellón has the best pantry in the Mediterranean, so let’s work for it,” said Roig.
