What to visit and what to do

  • Stroll through the streets of the centre of Benicarló, follow the CarxofArt route, and discover the striking examples of street art scattered around the town.
  • Get to know first-hand the fishing culture of Benicarló, go to the fish auction on your own, or live a complete experience with the Fishermen’s Route organised by the Tourist Info of Benicarló.
  • Visit the central market of Benicarló and the shops in the town to take home the best local products of the area.
  • Taste the characteristic tapas of artichoke or octopus of the area, along with a bicycle, vermouth and soda, accompanying the locals in their traditional mid-morning stop to make the “esmorzaret“.
  • Tour the artichoke fields of the area with specialised guides and farmers, who will reveal the secrets of the most emblematic product of their orchard.
  • Visit the Molí de l’Oli Interpretation Centre, an old mill converted into a museum, to learn about the historical importance of olive trees in the area.
  • Make a stop in Cálig and enjoy its landscapes of olive and almond trees. Enjoy a traditional Baix Maestrat menu, where meat and olive oil are the star products, in the beautiful surroundings of the Sanctuary of Mare de Deu de la Font de la Salut in Traiguera.
