Itinerary

Viver – Torás – Bejís – El Toro

What to visit and what to do

  • Discover the historical and cultural heritage of Viver along the Vive Viver Route, a walk marked by the murmur of the water that flows from its numerous springs and is carried by the river Palancia.
  • Take part in one of the wine and olive oil activities offered by the Viver Cooperative: a lunch in the vineyards, a visit to its wine cellar/press or wine and olive oil tasting sessions with a tasting of local products.
  • Follow the course of the river Palancia and enter a mountainous landscape marked by water paths to reach Torás and Bejís, two small villages with picturesque corners, surrounded by characteristic terraced cultivation of almond and olive trees.
  • Walk along the Bejís Water Route, passing through its Roman aqueduct to reach two of the most beautiful spots in the area: the Fuente de los Cloticos fountain and the source of the river Palancia.
  • Make a stop at the local products shop in Bejís, where, in addition to wines, olive oil and honey, you can buy local handicrafts, such as a clay pot for preparing your stews.
  • You can walk through the mountains and meadows of Torás and Bejís collecting cardoon and parasol mushrooms, two very easy-to-identify specimens and with nothing to envy to the prized chanterelles or boletus, with the added bonus that cardoon mushrooms can also be found in spring and summer.
  • Make your visit coincide with the El Toro Truffle and Artisan Products Fair to discover all the secrets of the truffle with the different activities on offer and taste products and dishes made with this precious treasure of the land.
