A great qualitative leap for the brand image of the products of the province among the haute cuisine that opens new opportunities for the producers and establishments of Castelló.
The deputy of Rural Development, Pablo Roig, has assured that “today we celebrate our first participation in Madrid Fusion as a historic step for our producers, who for the first time have had the opportunity to access a previously unattainable market. We continue adding new opportunities to our small companies, to our towns, so that the products of Castelló are increasingly known and better valued, also among the most demanding palates”.
It should be noted that in its four years of trajectory, Castelló Ruta de Sabor has managed to bring together more than 100 producers and has recently evolved into a gastronomic tourism product, extending its benefits to municipalities, as well as to tourist establishments, restaurants and innkeepers.
The introduction in the international haute cuisine of the hand of Berasategui is another step in the way that is making the brand Castelló Ruta de Sabor to continue increasing the consumption of local products and betting on the value of its quality. “The gastronomy of Castelló enjoys the best state of health of its history,” said the 10 Michelin starred Martín Berasategui. “Nature has been generous with this land that gives the best products either in the fields, in its farms or in the sea, and the impetus and the nonconformist character of the people of Castelló make the rest”.

The participation of the Provincial Council with Castelló Ruta de Sabor with its own stand at the XVII International Gastronomy Summit Reale Seguros Madrid Fusion 2019 has been a historic opportunity to open the doors to producers, chefs and establishments of the province in this great international forum, promoting new economic opportunities for the municipalities of Castellón.
Madrid Fusión is the most important international professional gastronomic event held in Spain and brings together every year about 2,000 congressmen, in addition to the best chefs both nationally and worldwide, who present the trends and work being carried out in the high-level gastronomic scene, as well as quality products. During these three days, prestigious chefs such as Ferran Adrià, Ricard Camarena or Quique Dacosta, have participated in presentations and other activities around the stoves.
The Castelló Ruta de Sabor stand has been a meeting point for professionals who have been able to get to know the provincial gastronomy not only through the experience of references such as Martín Berasategui or Raúl Resine, but also through the products exhibited and the promotional material and audiovisual screens.
In addition to providing coverage to several producers from Castellón, during these days the stand has allowed to publicize the wide range of the province and position it as a gastro-tourist destination. Very present among this material has been the gastromap edited by the provincial government that has been a success among the public, since hundreds of copies have been distributed in which the establishments, companies and public entities that are already part of the tourist product Castelló Ruta de Sabor.
This space of the Provincial Council has provided the producers from Castellón with facilities and equipment to hold commercial meetings.
