The Castellón Provincial Council is finalizing the ‘EVOO Conference and its harmonization with Castelló Ruta de Sabor products’ with which it will promote the province’s olive oil next week, on December 3, 4 and 5 at the CIPFP Costa de Azahar in Castellón. Thus, the Provincial Government will join one more year to the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Oil of the Comunitat Valenciana to stimulate the promotion of oil in the province and offer its producers and professionals new resources when “giving the oil new opportunities and claim that this land has in its gastronomic heritage one of the best arguments to seduce visitors and generate wealth,” as stated by the deputy of Rural Development, Pablo Roig.
It should be noted that with this consolidated initiative the Provincial Council contributes to provide more than a hundred producers and catering professionals who will participate in these training sessions, a forum focused on sharing knowledge about the liquid gold of gastronomy, one of the star products of the province.
This conference, which has already completed its program, will have different experts who will combine theoretical and practical sessions to “provide our producers with the best tools when marketing and exporting Castellón oil and promote its quality as the main differentiation strategy”.
With this objective, in addition to addressing various technical aspects on marketing and innovation in the promotion of oil, olive oil tourism or marketing in olive oil markets, culinary workshops will be held to harmonize EVOO with the products of ‘Castelló Ruta de Sabor’ and tastings where the organoleptic characteristics of local oils will be analyzed.
Roig explained that “this training proposal arises from the need to continue supporting our producers, promoting training and providing tools to the sector to enhance the value of olive oil as a sign of identity and excellence of our province”.
In this line, Roig stressed that “all the activities we organize from the provincial institution for the promotion of the agri-food sector, also seek to raise awareness among the population of the importance of consuming local products, as a determining factor for the social and economic development of Castellón”.
