November 12. The Diputación de Castellón will promote the consumption of products from Castellón through the I Castelló Ruta de Sabor Tastings programmed for the coming dates. In collaboration with the Association of Sumillieres of Castellón and Province (ASUCAP), the Provincial Government has scheduled six days (13, 20 and 27 November, and 4, 11 and 18 December) that will focus especially on achieving greater consumption of local products among restaurateurs and professionals Castellón. The deputy of Castelló Ruta de Sabor, Pablo Roig, explained that “although we open the tastings to the general public with a draw for five double tickets in each of the sessions, the public of this initiative is the professional. In fact, the 50 people who will participate are professionals in the hospitality industry, because what we seek is to publicize the best virtues of the products of Castellón to be present as the main attraction of the menu of all restaurants in the province”. The paired tastings will take place at 18:00 hours in the Espai Cultural Obert of the Provincial Council, in the Plaza Las Aulas in Castellón, on the days that have been scheduled, starting tomorrow, Monday. “The program is designed so that each participating product is present only one day, along with others with which it combines in harmony according to the criteria of ASUCAP. On this first day, will be present in Clotàs Monastres wine from Bodega Flors, EVOO from Sentiments Gourmets, potatoes, vegetables and truffles from Biopenyagolosa and vozka from Carmelitano, distilled with Agua de Benassal”, reported the deputy Roig.
A new initiative of the consolidated Castelló Ruta de Sabor
The Castellón Provincial Council is adding new initiatives related to Castelló Ruta de Sabor and with the same objective that once guided the creation of this guide brand: to increase the consumption of local products as a means of development of the municipalities of the province. “In this same line just a few weeks ago we carried out the I Craft Beer Fair Castelló Ruta de Sabor with huge public success. Now we will carry out these paired tastings, and with the approach of Christmas we will continue the actions that allow us to improve the visibility of the products of Castellón. We want the products of our land are present in every home in our province, because that is equivalent to add wealth to our businesses, our people and ultimately to our province, “explained Roig. It should be recalled that the Provincial Council has consolidated Castelló Ruta de Sabor as one of the agri-food brands linked to a territory with greater magnitude, as it currently brings together 80 producers and more than 100 products from 14 different productive sectors. So much so that in the recent edition of the Gastrónoma fair it was one of the most highly valued brands among the 15,000 prescribers who participated.
