The Provincial Council praises the delicacy of the truffle as a generator of wealth

The Provincial Council of Castellón extols the delicacy of the truffle as a generator of wealth in the interior of the province through a training cycle that promotes truffle farming and will multiply its dynamizing effect on the territory.

This initiative is part of the Provincial Government’s promotion of the resources offered by Castellón to revitalize the territory in order to multiply the development opportunities of the interior of the province.

That is why within this line of action marked by Javier Moliner in order to make the agri-food sector an inexhaustible source of opportunities for the territory, from the area of Rural Development of the institution has developed a technical course on the establishment and viability of truffle plantations.

The deputy responsible, Pablo Roig, stressed the need to “take advantage of all the opportunities offered to our interior by the cultivation of this prized fungus”.

Positioning the interior as a reference point

To this end, on 4 and 5 November, the auditorium of the building of New Dependencies of the Provincial Council will host a cycle that will deepen the rural development potential of trifucultura and that will allow the council to add arguments when “positioning our interior as a reference in the production and knowledge of this precious fungus thus opening numerous opportunities for the future to these people.

It should be noted that the course is aimed at all those interested in deepening their knowledge about the truffle, from students, entrepreneurs, farmers or professionals in the agricultural or forestry sector. Registration for the course should be formalized by sending an email to castelloterradetrufes@dipcas.es.

Two of the Technical Training Workshops ‘Establishment and viability of truffle plantations’ have already been held in the CEDES Center in Lucena and in Morella with a large audience. Likewise, these conferences will be held on November 17 at the CEDES in Albocàsser and on January 19 at the Center for Development, Information and Rural Promotion of Alto Palancia in Villanueva de Viver.

Truffle Farming Advisory Service

Within the line of promotion and enhancement of the truffle as a backbone of tourism in the inland area, the council created the Truffle Farming Advisory Service through which offers in-person, telephone or e-mail to the farmer who has a truffle plantation. “The aim is to reinforce the truffle as a sustainable economic alternative for the inland regions of the province,” explained Roig.
