The Diputación de Castellón has incorporated this Thursday 52 new Castellón food producers and tourist entities to the gastrotourism brand ‘Castelló Ruta de Sabor’. With this extension, one of the most important to date, there are now 353 entities that take advantage of the benefits of being part of this select club, which for a couple of years has been working to improve and expand the positioning of Castellón as a gastronomic tourist destination beyond our demarcation. The adhesion of all entities has materialized this morning in the Reception Hall of the Provincial Palace in a simple ceremony in which all new members have been delivered the certificate of use of the brand ‘Castelló Ruta de Sabor’. This has concluded a process that has lasted months, in which all applicants have had to pass audits and controls to guarantee the quality of their products. Of the incorporations that have become effective today 19 correspond to agri-food producers and the remaining 33 to tourism companies and institutions in the province. The deputy of Tourism has moved his message of welcome to all companies and organizations present and has congratulated them for contributing “with your good work and affection” to make Castellón “a reference of the Mediterranean culinary culture. In the opinion of Virginia Martí, this brand is now living “a very sweet stage because it has more and more support and is better known both inside and outside our region, a success for our province that can be nourished by the arrival of more tourists attracted by our gastronomy. The president of the Provincial Council, José Martí, who has expressed himself in similar terms, has sent a message of support to all companies, which encourages them to build “from now on” synergies that “push us to become a tourist destination with added value and differentiated”. In this sense, he insisted that we must strive to develop and diversify the economy to be able to face the economic recovery with better weapons. For his part, the deputy of Rural Development, Santi Perez, has made a positive reading of the trajectory of the brand, since “part of the members come from the interior and that means that there is future and progress in that area.” “You are an important part of the fight against depopulation”. Although the outbreak of the pandemic this 2020 has disrupted the plans for transformation and revival of ‘Castelló Ruta de Sabor’ “this does not mean that these have been shelved or discarded. We have worked to promote a new growth strategy that will improve the packaging and communication of the brand,” explained the head of Tourism. All the novelties, which are concentrated in five lines of action, will be presented shortly.
