The ‘Fira de Nadal’ of the Provincial Council will promote the consumption of products ‘Castelló Ruta de Sabor’ for this holiday season.

Tuesday, 15 December 2020 - Castelló Ruta de Sabor

The gastronomic exhibition opens this Friday in the Plaza de las Aulas in the capital with a dozen stands.

The first ‘Fira de Nadal’ of products ‘Castelló de Ruta de Sabor’ is the big bet of the Provincial Council to promote the consumption of food with Castelló seal during the upcoming Christmas season. From this Friday until Sunday night, the Plaza de las Aulas de Castelló will host the stands of small local companies that have accepted the invitation to move to the very center of the capital its best selection of products. Visitors will be able to find everything from wines and liqueurs and Christmas sweets to cheeses, vegetables and oils. With this gastronomic exhibition, the Provincial Council has set itself the goal of encouraging the purchase of local products to fill the tables of all homes in Castellón during the festive season. “Everyone likes to offer quality to their diners when special dates arrive and I think we agree that the best product there is is the one produced at home,” said Virginia Martí, deputy responsible for the brand ‘Ruta de Sabor’. With this has made an invitation to all citizens to come to Castelló to make the purchase of Christmas agape in the Classrooms “because this way we will be helping zero kilometer producers to grow and to position their products in the market”. Due to the pandemic situation, participation has had to be limited to a dozen companies, a fact that “in no case will not affect the sensory and gastronomic experience of the people who come to meet us”. To this must be added the application of a strict safety protocol: the lateral separation between the booths will be guaranteed, everyone’s temperature will be taken and hydroalcoholic gel will be offered so that people can clean their hands before entering. In addition to being able to contemplate the best provincial food production, attendees will also be able to enjoy complementary programmed activities, ranging from ‘showcookings’ to product presentations. The opening of the fair has been set for Friday 18 at 10 am. The opening hours will be the same on all three days, while the closing time is set for 10 pm except on Sunday, when it will be advanced to 8 pm. This first ‘Fira de Nadal’ is the natural evolution of the previous truffle show, which is due to “a process of change and enhancement of the brand ‘Castelló Ruta de Sabor’ that involves opening new exhibition spaces to present the full range of products offered by our land. In addition, “we have also given it a more suitable and attractive name for the current dates”.
