The deputy of Rural Development Action, Santi Perez, has shown the intention to convene a second edition of the event next year so that our products have the maximum diffusion inside and outside our province”.

The provincial deputy of Action Against Depopulation and Rural Development, Santi Pérez, has presided over the awards ceremony of the first Castelló Ruta de Sabor Gastronomic Recipes Contest that has been organized by the Provincial Council through social networks. The winner of the contest was Santiago Tena Tena, from Vilafranca, with ‘Tito trufado Castelló Ruta de Sabor’, who will enjoy a gastronomic experience of a day in San Mateo, which includes overnight stay, lunch and visit to a winery in establishments attached to the brand Castelló Ruta de Sabor. As explained by the author himself, this is a dish that in his childhood was cooked at home on special days of celebration. Among the ingredients are truffle, olive oil, artichoke and local wine. The second prize, a batch of Castelló Ruta de Sabor products, went to Lucía Andrés Tena, from Vilar de Canes, who prepared the recipe ‘Conejo del Maestrat al ajillo’ (Maestrat rabbit with garlic). “It is one of those recipes that pass from parents to children, which includes local products such as truffles, vegetables, and olive oil. And above all, a lot of patience”. The contest rules established the obligation to prepare the recipes with products from Castelló Ruta de Sabor. During his speech, the deputy of Action Against Depopulation and Rural Development, Santi Perez, has shown the intention of the government team of the new council to convene a second edition of the contest next year “because it is essential that in the province and abroad are known the products that are made in our land, as they have a very important added value from the point of view of quality”. He concluded by saying that “the council wants to strengthen what our producers and prescribers do so that Castellón Ruta de Sabor gets the widest possible dissemination”.
