The Diputación de Castellón will showcase the gastronomic wealth of the province with the participation of Castelló Ruta de Sabor in Salimat, the Atlantic Food Show, which will take place from 6 to 8 June in the Pontevedra town of Silleda. It is the first time that the brand of products and gastronomic tourism of the Provincial Council participates in this forum of reference in the north of the country, and will do so with its own stand that will have both an exhibition and product tasting part and an area enabled for producers to hold their business meetings.
The provincial deputy of Rural Development, Pablo Roig, explained that “the participation of the Provincial Council with Castelló Ruta de Sabor in Salimat is contextualized in the work we have done to open new opportunities for producers of our land when opening new markets to sell their products and that this will result in wealth in our province”.
It should be noted that, together with the Provincial Council, a total of nine producers from the sectors of allioli and sauces, jams, truga, artisan liqueurs, wine cellars and eggs will attend.
Roig has assured that “we continue adding new opportunities to our small companies, to our towns, so that the products of Castellón are increasingly known and better valued, also among the most demanding palates”.
To position Castellón’s gastronomy in the sector’s events.
The work of the Provincial Council with Castelló Ruta de Sabor has allowed during these four years since the Provicnial Government of Javier Moliner created the brand, to position the products of Castellón in the events of reference for the sector.
Thus, to the participation next month in Salimat, we must add the participation in Millesime Madrid, Gastrónoma since 2016, Madrid Fusión, Salón Gourmets, Fruit Logistica Fair or the continued presence of the gastronomic product in the FITUR Fair as the main showcase of the tourism sector, with the realization of showcookings and product tasting in all editions.
It should be noted that in its four years of existence, Castelló Ruta de Sabor has managed to bring together more than 100 producers and has recently evolved into a gastronomic tourism product, extending its benefits to municipalities, as well as to tourist, restaurant and hotel establishments.
Berasategui’s introduction to international haute cuisine has also been an important step in the path being taken by the Castelló Ruta de Sabor brand to continue increasing the consumption of local products and betting on the enhancement of their quality.
