“Castelló Ruta de Sabor is a firm commitment to our gastronomy and its protagonists as well as to the potential that our province has.”
This has been highlighted by the president of the Provincial Council of Castellón, Marta Barrachina, in Vinaròs, a town that becomes from today the epicenter of the gastronomy of the province on the occasion of the II Gastronomic Festival Castelló Ruta de Sabor.
The president of the Provincial Council has inaugurated this Friday the second edition of the festival that, until next Sunday 22, hosts the capital of Baix Maestrat and through which the Provincial Council of Castellón promotes the agri-food quality of the province with a full program in which the products of Castellón, its farmers, ranchers, producers, consumers, chefs and artisans, among others, take great prominence.
The first president of the Provincial Council has praised the Castelló Ruta de Sabor brand and pointed out that “it is a firm and decisive commitment of this administration to position the gastronomic heritage as a first class tourist product that complements the varied tourist offer of our province”.
Marta Barrachina added that through the gastronomic festival “we value the companies, producers and brands that are the true architects of our Ruta de Sabor; each one of them a fundamental piece in the culinary mosaic of our province, and together they create a tapestry of delights that deserves to be celebrated and shared”.
For the highest representative of the provincial institution, “Castelló Ruta de Sabor is to taste the gastronomy of our territory, is to savor the quality and variety of an exquisite pantry, while we energize our municipalities and generate opportunities.
And that is why from the provincial government “we will promote as many actions as necessary to promote Castellón as the best pantry in the Mediterranean and support the primary sector, our agriculture and livestock, and all sectors of the hospitality industry that value the cuisine of Castellón, making it a differentiating tourism product.
Third edition in Alcalà de Xivert-Alcossebre
In this support and promotion of the gastronomy of the province, the president of the Provincial Council has announced during the inauguration that the next edition of the Gastronomic Festival Castelló Ruta de Sabor will be held in Alcalà de Xivert-Alcossebre.
“Once again, we will have the privilege of delighting ourselves with the exquisite flavors and products that make this province a true culinary paradise,” added Marta Barrachina.
As for the II Gastronomic Festival that takes place for three days in Vinaròs, the president of the Provincial Council has invited to dive and “to immerse themselves in the rich mosaic of flavors, in this gastronomic map that brings our province,” he said.
“Each dish is a story, each flavor is a journey into our tradition and the diversity of our landscapes, and in the culinary event we explore the authentic gastronomic map of our province,” explained Marta Barrachina.
This gastronomic experience, which will awaken the senses, will feature the participation of chefs from restaurants with Michelin Star and Repsol Suns who will elaborate ‘showcooking’ and who are: Álvaro Mina (Mina restaurant in Bilbao), Sergio Bastard (La Casona del Judío in Santander), Óscar García (Baluarte restaurant in Soria), Ignacio Solana (Solana, from Ampuero, Cantabria), Jeroni Castell (Les Moles restaurant in Ulldecona, Tarragona), Rafel Muria (Quatre Molins restaurant in Cornudella, Tarragona), Raúl Resino (Raúl Resino in Benicarló), José María Montero (Casa Julen in Oropesa), Alejandra Herrador and Emanuel Carlucci (Atalaya restaurant in Alcossebre), Rubén Miralles (Rubén Miralles restaurant in Vinaròs), Miguel Barrera (Cal Paradís in Vall d’Alba), Luis Valls (El Poblet in Valencia) and Álvaro Salazar (Voro restaurant in Capdepera, Mallorca).
The event has an exhibition area for attending producers, as well as an area for restaurants and food trucks, a stage with a giant screen and kitchen for showcookings and presentations of products and companies, as well as children’s activities, workshops, performances and musical shows.
It also highlights an exhibition area where you can buy food products, dishes and tapas by restaurants associated with ‘Vinaròs Gastronòmic’, which have three spaces in which restaurants in the capital of the Baix Maestrat will be alternating.
Likewise, the Riscla restaurant from l’Alcora and the Julen restaurant from Oropesa del Mar will also be present.
