José Martí reiterates the firm commitment of the Diputación de Castelló for gastronomy and local products.

Friday, 09 December 2022 - Castelló Ruta de Sabor

The president of the Provincial Council of Castellón has highlighted, at the opening of the Christmas Market ‘Castelló Ruta de Sabor’, “the quality of the products we have in our land”.

The president of the Provincial Council of Castellón, José Martí, the deputy of Tourism, Virginia Martí, and the deputy of Rural Development, Santi Pérez, today inaugurated the Christmas Market ‘Castelló Ruta de Sabor’, which is now in its third edition, and will remain open in the Huerto Sogueros de Castelló square until Sunday 11 December from 10.00 to 22.00 hours, and on Sunday from 10.00 to 15.00 hours.

The fair hosts a total of 22 exhibitors, two more than last year, of gastronomic products from the province.

The president of the Provincial Council of Castellón has highlighted the success of the gastronomic festival held in Benicarló in October and that “has increased the participation of producers in this fair”. In addition, “this market is one more way that our interior and its products are seen in the capital, thus maintaining the firm commitment of the Tourist Board for gastronomy and local products,” added Martí.

Martí pointed out that “in our land we have a high quality product and, with this market, we are doing trade, we are doing restoration and we are also supporting the primary sector”.

For its part, the provincial deputy Virginia Martí said that, once again, “we have opted for our territory and, in particular, for the product of our land, with the third edition of this fair that, on this occasion, has changed location in the square Huerto Sogueros”. “There are 22 producers and we hope that this weekend, that there are so many people in our towns, visit this fair to enjoy the wonderful products we have in the province of Castelló,” he added.

It should be noted that gastronomic tourism is one of the main pillars of the tourism policy of the Provincial Council, where ‘Castelló Ruta de Sabor’ has a very important role, so that initiatives such as the Christmas Market ‘Castelló Ruta de Sabor’, only strengthen this commitment.

People who come to the Huerto Sogueros square during the weekend will be able to enjoy live product presentations, tastings, gastronomic demonstrations and purchase the products on display at the different points of sale.
