What to visit and what to do

• Cycle along the Ruta de la Naranja (Orange Route), an itinerary that runs through the extensive citrus groves that occupy the coastal strip of La Plana Baixa.
• Visit the El Molí d’Arròs Museum, one of the best examples of industrial rice archaeology in the Valencian Community, and go up to the ruins of Almenara Castle, a perfect viewpoint to contemplate the sea of orange trees that stretches along the coastline.
• Enjoy the tranquillity of the natural area of Els Estanys and the Marjal de Almenara, a perfect place for birdwatching, and continue the route to the natural beach of La Llosa.
• Stroll through the palm groves and marshes of Xilxes, a landscape dotted with rice fields and where the famous melon is grown, a sweet and crunchy delicacy that you have to try.
• Relax on Moncofa’s more than 500 metres of Blue Flag beaches, or walk along the coastline following the Belcaire blue trail.
• Taste the clemenules, various clementines from Nules that are highly appreciated both at home and abroad.
• Visit the modernist municipal market of Nules, which has a gastronomic area where you can try the wines of the Castelló PGI, the best cheeses in the province, and portions of the freshest fish and seafood from the coast of Castellón.
• Approach the village of Mascarell, the only completely walled enclosure in the Valencian Community, and continue the route towards the coast along paths surrounded by fields of clemenules.
